Peter Stas, co-founder of the group, has always been fascinated by how it was possible to add smart functions to simple quartz watches. He saw an opportunity to develop exciting watches with connected functions, displayed with rich information and graphics on smartphones since 2010, and finally launched the first Frederique Constant Horological Smartwatch in 2015, which became one of the best-selling watches in the collection. Since innovation is one of the group’s core values, it was only logical that a significant part of the R&D budget was invested in connected watch technology since then.
